What is RCA for registration and when you need it
RCA for registration is the mandatory auto civil liability policy issued for a vehicle that does not yet have a license plate number. It is issued on the chassis number (VIN), not on the registration number. You need it in three situations: when registering a new or imported car, when transferring ownership of a purchased vehicle, and when driving with red plates until registration is finalized. Without a valid RCA policy, you cannot submit the registration file and cannot legally drive.
